For example, if a text has photographs or illustrations, the reader should think about what is being shown. A book that is about the life cycle of a frog should have images of an egg, tadpole, frog, etc. WebThis book is a great way to teach students how to use context clues in order to find the meanings of unknown words! Using the book, "Baloney", by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, students need to fill in the chart of unknown words with the meaning of each as well as the clues in the text and illustrations that helped them to find the meaning.
