WebA blob of epoxy on a PCB usually signifies a chip-on-board assembly, where the manufacturer doesn't package the die, they just stick the bare silicon to a PCB, attach bond wires from the pads on the die to the PCB and cover it in epoxy to stop the wires from getting moved around. FPGAs are expensive, especially one that could emulate a NES. WebMy end results were so-so. I found that this product does not work very well on chips this small since its so easy to go to far and remove all of the paint.
