WebAssassin is one of my favorite vocations so id love to help you. Just to start. This game is amazing because of the endless combinations with vocations and skills to fit your own play style. That being said as a background I played assassin (fighter 1-10 assassin 11-200) for a very long time before switching to strider. I ahve already done a playthrough with a rogue/assassin (which I really enjoyed), one as a magick knight (meh, didn't really finish it, thought it was gonna be cooler) and one as a magick archer (honestly can't remember if I beat the game, maybe dropped it at some point).

You don’t lack damage (with Antler Toss/Intimate Gambit), and your playstyle revolves around evasion/not getting hit. It’s very quick, because Assassin doesn’t have access to heavy armor, so it needs high skill.
